Suggestions - 2nd read

Please place your suggestions for the second read here.

It can be a particular title or author that you are interested in, or just a general theme or genre that you wish to venture in.

The deadline will be Wednesday 28th October.

so far I've got 2 suggestions:

Had a thought it might be cool to do scary books this month - after all it is halloween. Maybe chose between Frankenstein, dracula and carrie by steven king - all books that can be got hold of fairly easily... just a thought.

and

I was thinking perhaps a fantasy/ scifi theme maybe this time for book choices.

Always wanted to read Frankenstein again. The Haruki Murakami books are also good ones (not Halloween related). Or, going with the Halloween theme, "The Day of the Triffids" by John Wyndham.

I haven't been to any of the meets - is the next one on Thursday?

Sticking with the Halloween theme I Am Legend by Richard Matheson is a good book. It's also pretty short and cheap to buy. It's much better than the film.

Since we were talking about the classics last Thursday, I'm going to suggest Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. It's a really awesome book with lots to discuss!

I thought perhaps a classic would be good such as The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Other Tales - by Robert Louis Stevenson, Roger Luckhurst or Just After Sunset by Stephen King. These are inkeeping with a halloween theme
